NAMIC Governing Board Visit

The Centre hosted NAMIC Governing Board members at its 3D printing research facility in NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, MD11 on 19 July 2023. The Centre showcased its state-of-the-art facility which has 3D printing and bioprinting capabilities as well as a cell preparation room.

Representatives from CoolestDCKosmodeHealth Singapore and Scent Analytics were invited to share their progress and achievements since embarking on the additive manufacturing journey.

CoolestDC presented how their proprietary 3D-printed topology-optimised fin cold plate based on computational fluid dynamics reduces chip temperature and liquid pumping power, which in turn lowers server power consumption, resulting in liquid-cooled servers with superior operational efficiency as compared to conventional non optimised air-cooled/liquid-cooled servers.

Kosmode Health presented 3D printed scaffolds customised for 3D cell cultures and cellular agriculture applications, based on their technologies in plant-protein extraction, plant protein composite bio-ink development, and 3D scaffold printing with their proprietary electrohydrodynamic 3D printer.

Scent Analytics shared how their 3D-printed graphene sensor coupled with an AI platform enables the detection of volatile chemicals released by distressed, diseased, or pest-infested plants which can pre-empt farmers on an outbreak and allows them to monitor the growth and quality of their produce in real-time.
